It gives the students something specific to focus on during presentations. Many students don't actively listen, so this will be a big help. I\u2019ll implement other experiences, such as writing poetry, making a brochure, making posters, writing a story, or creating an ABC book. I also liked how one teacher used a digital camera (technology) to create a book on forces and motion. I believe that this is more individualized for the students and addresses their strengths in the area of expressing themselves through literacy and with the content. I want to help teachers develop and plan their literacy blocks around their content areas. It is the only way that I can see all of the components working. Two main items that I am wanting to focus on is presenting and unit summary.

\nI relied so much on whole group presenting of claims and evidence. I think this is ok sometimes, but feel that it would be more powerful in smaller groups. I think that the students would have time to go back and reflect more with their group and have more discussion.

\nAs for the unit summary, I previously had a project that they worked on a writing piece, create a game board, poster, technology project. As the year goes on in Science, I would like to release control and let them have student choice to express their understanding of the Big Idea. Let them choose a project to show their understanding.
