I do so much better if I can see it modeled for me first.  Also, I need many times to try things on my own and learn from my own doing.  Reflecting what went well, what didn't...what will I do the same\/different next time.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAs an educator I need to consciously provide these opportunities in the classroom.  I need to allow kids to watch each other and try things. I don't learn as well if I have to read or research information.  I am a hands on learner and I tend to find myself trying to get ahead of the modeling, trying to figure out the next step before it is given.  That is what I need to keep in mind as an educator, students want to figure out the next step before it is given to them. <br \/>\n<br \/>\nIn my classroom I feel that there is a lot of hands on learning, but I find myself quick to tell them, rather than having them figure it out. If  I'm interested in something, then I want to read about it and practice it until I've got it.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nSo , in my classroom, I need to find a way to get the students interested in the topic or activity. As an instructor, I learned that to learn and fulfill a new district approach I need time, and I need to likewise facilitate student motivation, opportunities to practice, think, and share their learning.  I agree with the text that students need the right materials and appropriate pacing. I find experiences to be interesting when they are hands on.
